(And lo! The first RP thread on the site!)
At this moment in the wide spectrum of time, the ever-changing weather could be described as violent and perilous as buckets of rain fell, no, rushed from the sky as they were carried along by high winds that blew them at a near-horizontal angle, the boughs of the many trees in Huni no Kuni swaying, some of the weaker branches outright being blown off. The only significant source of light in this raging storm were the brilliant flashes of lightning that would illuminate the landscape. Surely, this was not the type of weather that any sane person would be out in.
Fortunately, not every shinobi of Konoha is one-hundred percent sane or at least normal, some more so than others. If there wasn't, what would be the point? Would it only be seen through the comfort of safe windows while the observers stayed warm in blankets of fluff and perhaps sipping something warm to keep the chill away? If all were normal, then yes, that would be true, but it would also be quite boring since no one would be fully appreciating the fierce nature of it, and she also wouldn't be out doing one of the favorite parts of her job: catching small fish who thought they were big stuff and not only showing them that there were bigger fish that were more than capable of showing them that there were bigger fish in the pond, but being that bigger fish. Mitarashi Anko was currently crouched down on top of a particularly thick branch that only swayed a little bit due to its sturdiness, holding a few wires in her right hand that went off in different directions, presumably to instruments of high amounts of pain. She grinned slightly as she thought of the analogy. With everything not under her dark trench coat being drenched, she had chosen the leather one to protect against the elements and blend in better, it was very much like a pond right now. One question remained though: Where were the little fish?
An abnormal rustle of soaked undergrowth accompanied by a flash of lightning showed Anko that they had arrived, and four of them at that. She grinned ferally as another flash showed that they were wearing shinobi gear that definitely did not originate in Konoha or any of its allies. Which one was it in particular? She didn't care. She had every excuse not to care this time since she was on official orders to eliminate the threat, perhaps bring in one or two for questioning if she was able to. She waited until the group reached a certain spot, smirking. As aware as they were, she probably could have painted a bright bullseye on the ground and gotten away with it.
They moved once more.
Anko released the wires.
They screamed.
She laughed.
Anko jumped down through the slippery branches to observe her handiwork more closely, grinning the entire time like a feral beast. When she was earth-bound, she saw that one of the bodies was filled with kunai in a gruesome manner, definitely dead. Another was currently covered by the coils of a giant constrictor boa, definitely on his way to dieing by being crushed. Fortunately, there were two that were currently suspended in mid-air, surrounded by ninja wire that held their limbs right up against their body. One was a boy of, if she were to guess, seventeen, perhaps the leader of the group. His blue eyes were wide with shock, short white lockes slick from the rain. The other was a pale girl with short hair that had a bluish tint to it, dark eyes wide with fear of her life as she struggled against the bindings that held her unusually light frame captive. Anko laughed. She didn't feel sorry for them now, and she likely wouldn't when Ibiki got to them. They had attempted to sneak in to her village, and they should have been prepared to face the consequences. "Give it up chickadee. Neither you nor salt over there can get out of those. Don't worry, you won't be afraid soon." As soon as she finished, Anko was before them in an instant and whacked each of them beside the head, knocking them out. Quickly, she cut the wires and bound them, hands on their sides and securely away from each other so they couldn't do any seals. As soon as they were secure, Anko slung one over each shoulder before disappearing in to the night. The constrictor began its meal.
Half an hour later...
Anko walked out of the interrogation building, not caring how wet she was. Her signature spiky hair was even beginning to go a little limp. She stretched her arms, glad that the two had been light. The problem was, she didn't quite feel like going home yet, and most places would be closed due to the weather. To observe the storm, she found a tree, closer to a larger structure that would draw lightning before it ever did, and leaned back against the bark.
